I had a horrible experience yesterday with some of my affiliate accounts being hacked.
As most of you know I am an affiliate and earn commission from different affiliate programs. Most of my commission comes from other industries but I do also earn from Bitcoin sites and this blog.
Yesterday I logged in to find that my balance was 0 at an affiliate program where I definitely had earnings. At first I thought it might be a glitch but then I received a mail from SealsWithClubs saying they had received a suspicious withdrawal request and wanted to check with me. Long story short I was robbed!
Someone had tried to login to my affiliate accounts for Bitcoin (some successfully) and withdrew to their own wallet address. Needless to say I feel completely violated plus I’m out the cash. It’s still fresh so I don’t have too much to add other than I’ve learnt an expensive lesson here.
Special mention must be to SealsWithClubs who contacted me proactively and blocked the withdrawal. They figured it was suspicious and emailed me to verify it was me before processing. I’ve been impressed with them since I started in Bitcoin but kudos for continuing to impress. If you’re planning on playing Poker with Bitcoins then they really are the best choice today.
Also credit to BetChain and SatoshiBet who always treat partners as real partners and are helpful and understanding whenever I need something.
If anyone wants to try trace the address and figure out who the SOB who did this was I am happy to publish the offending address. Anyway, back to the grind…
