P2P AI-Assisted Platform for dApp Development and Data Sharing

The SingularityNET platform is a decentralized, autonomous platform that is self-organizing and co-operative. It aims to market various AI resources and tools to provide businesses who would otherwise not have accesses to the necessary resources with the means to develop their own AI protocols (termed ‘AI agents’ by SingularityNET). This will be possible by the existing tools provided by the Singularity platform. It will also allow developers to make their products available on a reliable network without having to concern themselves too much with marketing and business plans. All transactions will also be carried out with smart contracts, meaning that both parties will have the security of knowing that the other party will fulfill their part of the agreement. The SingularityNET team hopes to eventually develop the network into a completely autonomous AI network through which various AIs can locate, engage and transact with each other without the need for human interaction.

SingularityNET Platform – How it works

The underlying principle is for the AI platform to slowly evolve as more AI agents are connected to it, as this will allow for it to acquire more data from its interactions across the various nodes that it is connected to. Basically, the smaller AI programs that are plugged into the system have very specific functions that they are capable of fulfilling. The SingularityNET platform allows them to connect and interact with each other. In turn, the AI system will monitor the autonomous actions and engagements of the agents operating on its network. It then integrates this new data from these AI agents and their interactions into its own software in order to learn new and develop a greater intelligence that will eventually become completely autonomous and self-developing. In this way, it will reach a point whereby it will be able to act as an overseer of all AI transactions, activities, negotiations and adjustments without the need for any human intervention. It will allow for inter-blockchain interactions. Currently, users do have the option to choose whether the AIs perform automatically, or whether there is a combination of AI and human intervention on transactions. Interestingly, AI agents can also be ‘incentivized’ to perform tasks optimally, through the implementation of a reward-based benefit rating system. This functionality gives users the opportunity to rate the usefulness pf the service that they received from a specific AI agent, in terms of speed, output and so on. Higher ratings will then improve the likelihood of other users and AI agents making use of their services in the future. Therefore, if these AI agents are programmed to view higher ratings as favorable, and to automatically adjust their performances to reflect client needs, this system could eliminate the need for human intervention beyond the AIs initial creation and introduction onto the SingularityNET system. Eventually, as the AIs learn and evolve, SingularityNET even envisions that the introduction of new AIs onto the system could be conducted by other AI agents. Service and product transactions can be conducted with SingularityNET platform’s AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) token or by a service/product barter exchange, with the three current primary target markets being:

  • Cloud robotics – this is the creation of centralized AI robot intelligence. A current example of this is Sophia from Hanson Robotics.
  • Cybersecurity.
  • Biomedical research.

SingularityNET Platform – The Opportunity

The purpose here is not the creation of a decentralized Big Brother, but rather the opportunity for various nodes to pool together to generate the necessary computing power required by each business in order to develop and access the specific AI tools and functionalities that they need. It’s decentralized structure also makes it globally accessible, which will be especially useful to developing economies and entrepreneurs. It will accomplish this by providing the platform for AI developer to submit and market their AI protocols to other users, thereby benefitting the developers monetarily and the users from a resource perspective. It is important to note that even though the platform’s goal is to become full autonomous, the platform is intended as a marketplace, so transactions and services will still require payments by users and the developers will still receive income from their projects. The AI agents and SingularityNET platform operate via smart contracts with are stored on the blockchain and can be set as either private or public, thereby permitting users to operate anonymously and securely, if they so choose. As an added measure of legal and ethical protection, SingularityNET plans on forming a Supervisory Board comprised of professional legal experts to audit both the SingularityNET Foundation and platform. By combining these the legal and smart-contract elements together, the SingularityNET platform also endeavors to improve the time that it usually takes for contracts to be finalized. Currently, opinions are split as to whether such a concept would be more beneficial for society, or whether it could spell the beginning of the end. But, these advancements are coming whether we are pro or not, so all we can do is hold on to see where this goes.
