FinTech experts from around the world, coming to Zagreb for the 2nd Shift Money Conference

Zagreb, 9th October 2019 – The second edition of the FinTech Conference Shift Money will be held on 18th and 19th November 2019. in Lauba in Zagreb, Croatia.

The focus of the Shift Money Conference will be on the future of money, which includes all changes and trends in industry in which banks and other classic financial institutions have so far had the main word. Lately, Telecoms, FinTech companies and startups have been increasingly competing with them by offering innovative products and services which place clients in preferential position and allow them to have simpler and more financially favourable shopping experience, do money transactions, change currencies and do similar actions.

Banks try to keep up in these conditions and respond to challenges that usually come in a form of mobile and web apps – either on their own or cooperating with existing startups or starting them themselves. It will be also interesting to see what role will cryptocurrencies market have with time, and will cryptocurrencies become relevant mean of payment and significally compete with classic fiat currencies such as HRK and Euro.

More than 1000 FinTech professionals are expected at the Shift Money Conference. During two days, they will be able to attend lectures and round tables about actual topics from the FinTech and visit the fair where around 50 FinTech startups, companies, banks and other players from the area will be presented. Representatives from famous brands such as Transwerwise, Revolut and JP Morgan are expected among lecturers and exhibitors.

Mariana Gospodinova spent years in pioneering e-money institutions in UK and Malta, before joining Binance as a COO. She will be one of lecturers promoting cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology, Also Cyril Mathew of Coinbase and Apto Payments’ CEO Meg Nakamura which will talk about consumer trends in crypto like spending, saving, rewards and others.

The Shift FinTech Challenge will also be a part of the Conference. It is a startup pitch competition which will allow participants to present their projects and build business network, with the emphasis on potential mentors and investors that could help them realise their ideas. The 2019 Jury will be made up of representatives of well-known funds like Techstarts, 500startups, Plug and Play and others.
