Silk Road – Response to Russell Brand’s Response

It’s been nearly two weeks since Ross Ulbricht received his life sentence after being found guilty of his involvement with the dark web website ‘Silk Road’ and the internet appears to be divided on their opinion of the result.

Many people within the Bitcoin community are against the life sentence because of several reasons – either they believe that Ulbricht deserves a much more lenient sentence or they feel that there was no wrongdoing in his actions.

Famous comedian Russell Brand falls into the latter category after his response video was posted and he was upset to say the least. Brand referred to Ulbricht as “an entrepreneur” and maintained that the US government is coming down hard on Ulbricht and Silk Road because it was driving a market that the country was unable to tap into.

Have a look at Brand’s video to get a better idea of how incensed he really was after the court ruling:

After viewing the above, The Coinversation decided to put together a response to the response – and ask Brand one simple question: how do you actually feel about the sentencing? While Brand’s video was extensive and filled with several strong opinions, he essentially never addresses the life sentence that Ulbricht receives. Why?

The following is our video response to Russell Brand and we are now calling out to you the internet to help it reach him.

Post it, tweet it, share it, like it – do what you can for this video to be viewed by Russell Brand so he can hopefully answer the question that he supposedly initially set out to answer. Let’s continue this discussion over the sentencing and get some more opinions on it. Tweet us, comment on YouTube or message us on Facebook and let us know what you think.
