Shuffle’s Intent to Acquire Sherbet: Insights for Users

On October 21, 2024, Noah Dummet, CEO of Shuffle, announced that Shuffle, a new crypto casino and gambling site launched in 2023, signed a letter of intent to acquire Sherbet, an online crypto casino known for its NFT and BTC betting platform. While Sherbet never quite reached the same level of success as Shuffle, Dummet emphasized the mutual respect between the two platforms and reassured users that this acquisition will be handled with care.

As part of the acquisition process, Sherbet’s operations will eventually wind down. However, users can rest assured that their balances are secure. The platform will remain in “withdrawal-only mode,” allowing users 30 days to access and withdraw their funds. Shuffle is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all Sherbet users, with further updates to be announced moving forward.

Addressing Controversies

One Twitter user quickly pointed out concerns about Sherbet’s history, alleging scams, lacking a valid license, and questionable KYC practices. These accusations link by a Medium user, P0LYG0NBets, sharing a detailed account of how they allegedly lost $125,000 due to Sherbet’s practices. Claims include slow responses from Sherbet’s team, unclear KYC procedures, and unfulfilled withdrawal requests, especially after significant wins.

Another user, dwmgm_, shared a similar experience, alleging that Sherbet delayed withdrawals and blocked accounts after significant wins. They also claimed that the platform was operating under an expired Curaçao license.

Limited responses from Sherbet.com’s higher-ups before the user, dwmgm_, was removed from the VIP Telegram chat, leaving $38,000 unresolved.

Dummet then responded to these concerns directly. He clarified that Sherbet is no longer taking bets and agreeing that all platforms should operate under valid licenses. While Dummet didn’t provide an in-depth comment on the allegations, he did acknowledge ongoing efforts to address at least one of the concerns.

Next steps for Sherbet Users Amidst the Acquisition

As the acquisition process continues, Shuffle is committed to transparency and ensuring that Sherbet users remain informed. While controversies about Sherbet’s past persist, Shuffle has reassured users that these matters are being addressed. This is particularly concerning the security of user balances.

If you’re a Sherbet user, now is the time to withdraw your funds and keep an eye out for further updates. Shuffle is confident about the future and remains dedicated to supporting users throughout the transition. Be sure to stay tuned for updates as we gather more information about the acquisition.
