Top 10 US States Most Interested in Bitcoin Gambling

We are always interested in Bitcoin gambling, whether that is the best casinos or the top sports betting sites. It is popular in the United States, but where exactly does Bitcoin gambling draw the most attention? We decided to investigate. 

Our research aims to identify the Top 10 US States Most Interested in Bitcoin Gambling by examining US Google Trends data of English Bitcoin gambling search terms.

We examined how popular each search term was in every US states, attributing Google’s ‘Interest over time value’. 

The values for each state were then combined to arrive at a final total for each state to represent the overall popularity of Bitcoin gambling in ever state. 

The date range we chose was broad, covering a twelve month period from, November 1, 2021 to November 1, 2022.

Here are some of our findings: 

• Oregon came out as the state overall most interested in Bitcoin gambling, scoring particularly strongly for the terms ‘Bitcoin Gambling’ and ‘Bitcoin Slots’. 
• New York and California came with 2nd and 3rd, with 187 and 184 points respectively.
• Mississippi tops the table for the term ‘Bitcoin betting’ with a score of 100.
• 7th overall, Nevada unsurprisingly comes out on top for the term Bitcoin Poker with 100.

Oregon ranks #1 as the state most interested in Bitcoin gambling

With a total score of 358, Oregon emerges as the state which shows the most interest in Bitcoin gambling. Oregon registered the highest levels of interest for the search phrases ‘Bitcoin slots’, ‘Bitcoin gambling’. 

California in second and New York in third

California registered the second highest level of interests for Bitcoin gambling search phrases, with strong volumes for all six searches. The highest California registered was 84 for Bitcoin slots, and the lowest 33 for Bitcoin poker. 

New York scored 308 overall and like California showed strong interest in all six topics with the highest 63 for ‘Bitcoin betting’ and the lowest being 35 for Bitcoin poker.

Bitcoin Betting Most Popular in Mississippi

Although only registering in 9th overall, Mississippi showed the highest levels of interest for the search term ‘Bitcoin Betting’, with a score of 100, suggesting a significant interest in sports and esports betting in the state. 

Bitcoin Poker Most Popular in Nevada

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Nevada has scored the highest for the search term ‘Bitcoin poker’, surpassing any other state in interest for this term.

Research Methodology

The research examines Google Trends data of English search in the United States frequently used by people interested in Bitcoin gambling. We used 6 of the most popular search terms related to Bitcoin gambling.

These terms were:

• Bitcoin poker
• Bitcoin slots
• Bitcoin casino
• Bitcoin casinos
• Bitcoin gambling
• Bitcoin betting

Other terms were considered but ultimately omitted due to insignificant data.

These terms were then combined to give each country a ‘total’ score to find out which state is the most interested in Bitcoin gambling, from November 1st 2021 to November 1st 2022.
