Primedice Proves Its Popularity, Nears 5 Billion Bets

In the time it took to write this sentence, the Bitcoin dice site Primedice has processed nearly 1,000 bets. Yes you read that correctly.

Primedice, which unabashedly claims to be the “world’s most popular Bitcoin game” has surpassed 4.4 BILLION bets. Just today I watched the site’s ticker – which is a bit like watching The Matrix, you should try it sometime – and was mesmerized as bets flew down the screen. I tuned in around 4,399,000,000 and was waiting to see when it would hit the 4.4 billion mark.

It only took 76 minutes

And that means that Primedice players are placing 219 bets per second.

According to stats from Dicesites.com, Primedice has seen nearly 900,000 BTC wagered since its inception. Graphs on that site show that the total bets and BTC wagered are climbing steadily every single day and don’t show signs of slowing down.

The site pays out more than 2,500 Bitcoins every day, and yet its highest winner has only earned 20 BTC. That could be the secret to Primedice’s success considering how it’s high rollers section features players betting anywhere from 0.1 BTC to 0.9 BTC – the wins may be small but they were also produced from small bets.

It’s certainly no secret that Bitcoin dice is an incredibly popular medium, and Primedice has simply learned how to perfect it. The site is incredibly clean and easy to use, there is an affiliate program with a sizeable referral payout of 10%, and even a Bitcoin faucet. If that wasn’t enough, the site is also entirely provably fair.

Now comes the fun part. At the time of this writing, Primedice was sitting around 4,404,000,000 bets placed, but that’s a pretty random number. So, just how long will it take to reach 5 billion bets? I whipped out my handy calculator and did some equations and it will take roughly another 31 days for the remaining 596,000,000 bets to be made. However, that’s only if the pace stays the same, so it will be interesting to see how much sooner the feat is achieved by the site. Stay tuned.

After crunching the numbers, and getting sucked into watching the site’s bet ticker, it’s safe to assume that Primedice actually is the world’s most popular Bitcoin game. Now all we have to do is sit back and wait to see what it will accomplish next.
